Schumpeter School Professionals Day (14.04.2016)

On April 14, 2016, the 3rd "Schumpeter School Professionals Day" took place at the Bergische University of Wuppertal, this time on the subject of "Digitization and transformation as success factors for regional companies". In the two-year event organized jointly by the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics and the Schumpeter School Foundation, the "Dynamic Entrepreneurs", which are central to the process of innovation, are complemented by scientific and theoretical perspectives. Consequently, the 120 guests were diversified an from a variety of different businesses and sectors.

After the welcome contributions, each with a brief summary of the university's rector, the dean of the Schumpeter School and the chairmen of the Foundation and the chairman of its board of trustees, a brief introduction to "Aspects of Digitization in Business" was given by the management of the Institute for System Research of information, communication and media technology (SIKoM) of the University of Wuppertal. Participants in the seminar included the following: SmartFactory (Schumacher PrecisionTools GmbH, Remscheid), Digital Platforms (E / D / E, Wuppertal), Cloud Computing and Data Control (M94 GmbH, Solingen), on the basis of selected examples from the entrepreneurial practice, each of which was briefly scientifically reviewed.

From all the program activities, the process of digitization takes place in the long term and involves profound and varied changes. In Schumpeter's sense, this is the establishment and expansion of a new Kondratieff cycle with its approximately 50-year period.
